The heat index in Olongapo City's Barangay Barretto reached 44.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, according to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
Danger-level heat affects anyone outdoors, including students walking to class, workers, and older adults. Knowing when to limit sun exposure and stay hydrated helps prevent serious heat illness.
Check the latest heat index readings from PAGASA or your local disaster risk office before planning outdoor activities.
