New waste collection fleet for Bengaluru, to cost Rs 4,500 crore

Karnataka cabinet approved a Rs 4,000-4,500 crore plan to overhaul Bengaluru's waste collection with 10 new seven-year contracts. The fleet will shrink to 4,900 GPS-fitted vehicles but capacity rises to 9,000 tonnes.
