The Forest Department has denied reports of illegal tree felling inside Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, after NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar alleged that more than 32,000 trees were being cut across over 233 hectares in the adjoining Saindongar forest area of Raigad district for a pumped-storage hydroelectric project.
