MUDA has prepared a Rs 16 crore plan to develop eight lakes across Dakshina Kannada, with Rs 5 crore each for Moorukatte lake in Kumpala and Anekere lake in Mulki.
Restored lakes can improve groundwater levels, reduce local flooding, and create parks for walking and recreation. Residents near Kumpala, Mulki, Hosabettu, and Talapady will see changes in their neighbourhood spaces.
