Chandigarh Police said an accused in the murder of 17-year-old student Naitik fired at officers during a weapon recovery in the Sector 50 forest area on Saturday.
The attack targeted a passenger inside an auto-rickshaw, a commute mode many metro residents use daily. It highlights safety risks for late-night auto travel and the reach of gang-linked violence.
