A court on September 10 sentenced a man to a double death sentence for raping and killing his six-year-old niece, citing the Nirbhaya case and observing that he committed the inhuman crime on the day of “Kanya Bhoj”, when Hindu women traditionally invite young girls and worship them as embodiments of Goddess Durga.
