After nearly three years of negotiations, India’s landmark free trade agreement with the UK came into force on July 15, opening one of the country’s biggest export opportunities in recent years by slashing tariffs, improving access for services and professionals, and giving Indian manufacturers preferential entry into the world’s sixth-largest economy.
